  • Story Hour in the Kids Nook with Doria Hughes

    Storyteller Doria Hughes is well known for her silly sound effects, wacky faces, and encouraging audience participation! She particularly enjoys telling trickster tales, silly tales, and spooky tales from all around the world. A co-founder of the Storytellers' organization Massmouth, and a ReadBoston Storymobile Storyteller, Doria performs and teaches Storytelling and story-reading throughout greater Boston, helping children develop their own individualized and collaborative storytelling performances.

  • Bean to Bar: Chocolate & Coffee Tasting with Goodnow Chocolates and George Howell Coffee

    Meet Monica Rogan, co-founder of local, award-winning Goodnow Farms Chocolate and learn about their approach to making great-tasting, ethically sourced and fine flavor chocolate. This event will be informational and experiential including tastings of cocoa nibs, fresh pressed cocoa butter, and various single origin chocolates. In addition to the tastings throughout the class there will be a chocolate and coffee pairing at the end.

    Join Ms. Jenny Lee at the Connections Corner to make Snowmen Tuffles!!! Each student will roll, assemble, and decorate their very own snowmen made with delicious chocolate truffles, and allergen friendly candies. Each student will go home with 2-3 adorable AND edible snowmen!

  • Pasta Making Workshop with Law of Pasta

    Learn how to make pasta from scratch with Law of Pasta! In this hands-on workshop, Chef Avery will teach you how to make a pasta dough by hand using premium ingredients, roll it into sheets, and learn dozens of different pasta shapes (inc. pappardelle, linguine, farfalle, strozzapretti, etc.). The chef will then demo a seasonal dish with Avery's handmade fettuccine and attendees will all eat together! We'll send you home with the pasta you’ve created (about a pound).

  • Seasonal Color Workshop with Sasha Duerr and New England Farm to Fiber

    Cooking with color as a class, Sasha will draw from accessible recipes in her latest book Natural Color and encourage fresh techniques and inspiring ways of working and designing with plant based palettes. We'll make vibrant seasonal color recipes from scratch- and delve into helpful ingredients, materials and techniques. We will also play with surface and color design for our naturally made dye baths. Each participant will take home a saturated variety of local color and samples, as well as a variety of larger patterned textiles that speaks of our own uniquely made winter color story.

    Embrace the winter season by learning to knit with Genevieve Day founder of natural yarn company New England Farm to Fiber. You will learn to knit from gorgeous all natural, sustainable 100% sheep wool. You will be introduced to the knit stitch, binding off your project, and seaming. We will send you home with instructions on how to finish your project and a list of online resources.
