Coppiced Christmas Trees – PRE-ORDER BELOW

During the holiday season, Forestopia offers beautiful and naturally grown (agri-chemical free) coppiced Christmas trees and wreaths. Our trees are sustainably grown and harvested at The Forest Farm in Shutesbury, and other sites we manage in the hills of Western Massachusetts and Southern Vermont.

Coppiced trees (or stump culture) are not killed when harvested, rather they are cut high with a few branch whorls remaining. New trees are regenerated from the living stump and branches repeatedly over many years. This is a much more ecologically sound way of producing trees, with no tillage or soil disturbance, and abundant habitat for wildlife. This approach can be integrated into a more holistic, regenerative agroforestry system, together with livestock, other crops, and native trees.
