The Winners of the Boston Public Market Artistic Bike Rack Design Vote!

Thank you to everyone who helped us choose the designs for the bike racks that will be installed outside the Market, ensuring access to the market for customers arriving by bike! In just one week, 1,212 people voted on their two favorite designs. Now, here are the winners:

With 721 votes, the clear favorite was the “veggies” design, and the “lobster” design received 381 votes to narrowly beat the “pear core” design (349 votes) and take second place!

Special thanks to Artists for Humanity and their teenage designers who came up with these creative designs for us! We especially want to recognize Joshua Curtis for designing the “veggies” and Jamaleek Bush and Elexxus Ryan for designing the “lobster.” The Boston arts community is important to us at the Market and we were excited to partner with these great young designers.

What’s next? We’re working with Boston Bikes and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to make sure the final designs will be safe and functional, and to produce and install the racks this fall. In addition to these two artistic bike racks, there will also be traditional bike racks on the plaza outside the Market. We look forward to seeing you and your bikes at the Market!
