Boston Public Market Seasonal Cookbook | Second Edition

SECOND EDITION OF BOSTON PUBLIC MARKET SEASONAL COOKBOOK NOW AVAILABLE

Book Features Ingredients & Recipes from More Than 36 New England Vendors at the Market

BOSTON, MA — The team at the Boston Public Market (BPM), an indoor, year-round marketplace located at 100 Hanover Street in Boston, announces the launch of their second recipe book, the Boston Public Market Seasonal Cookbook. The colorful paperback book serves as a guide to seasonal cooking, helping readers to eat more local, more often, using fresh food grown and produced throughout New England. Written in-house by Boston Public Market staff, the cookbook features more than 100 recipes, shopping lists, and cooking tips reflective of the local agricultural landscape and items produced by the farmers, fishers, and food entrepreneurs found at the BPM.

The Seasonal Cookbook costs $25 and is available for purchase at the Info Desk, located inside the Market entrance at the corner of Congress and Hanover Streets, near FoodCares Urban Market and Red Apple Farm. The book will also be for sale during the Boston Public Market’s first annual Holiday CR[EAT]OR Market, every Saturday and Sunday through December 17th. At the Holiday CR[EAT]OR Market, artisans from throughout the region pop-up alongside permanent BPM vendors to sell their gift-able wares.

“We’re tremendously proud of the work we do at the Boston Public Market every day, and hope the second edition of the Boston Public Market Seasonal Cookbook will help to extend our mission beyond the Market’s walls,” said Cheryl Cronin, CEO of the Boston Public Market. “As with all activities at the BPM, our goal with this cookbook is to both support our vendors’ hard work, and to educate readers about access to local, nutritious food.”

Beautiful watercolor illustrations highlight featured ingredients alongside recipes like Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble, using fresh strawberries and rhubarb from FoodCares Urban Market, Siena Farms or Stillman’s Farm, Honey Glazed Hake with Roasted Parsnips, which incorporates local hake from Red’s Best and Boston Honey Company honey, and Braised Mustard Greens & Bacon using bacon from Chestnut Farms or Stillman Quality Meats and mustard greens and garlic scape from produce vendors. The cookbook makes a great holiday gift, in addition to gift baskets, BPM gift cards, and myriad options from vendors, ranging from local stoneware, woodenware, and flowers to sweets, wine and spirits, and cheese plates.
