BOSTON, October 11 — Somerville Bread Company, a small batch bakery that provides organic artisan bread and bread products to several restaurants, cafes, and gourmet groceries in the Somerville and Boston area, will open on Monday, October 17 at the Boston Public Market (MondaySaturday, 8am-8pm; Sunday, 10am-8pm). The bakery – located by the Haymarket entrance between Mother Juice and Crescent Ridge – will sell a variety of baguettes, loaves, bread puddings, and other breads, all baked in Somerville and delivered to the Market twice daily.

“Somerville Bread Company started out in Boston-area farmers’ markets, and many of our current customers at our storefront in Somerville first discovered us in a market,” said Nick Robertson, owner of Somerville Bread Company. “I’m thrilled to be taking Somerville Bread Company into a permanent market consistent with our values of locally-sourced organic food and community connectedness.”

Somerville Bread Company offers a rotating assortment of organic breads and bread products, including baguettes, sourdough, focaccia, pita, potato rolls, rye, sesame, quarkbrot, bacon loaf, dinkelbrot, and sweet and savory bread puddings. All of their ingredients are organic and sourced from New England suppliers. At the Boston Public Market, Somerville Bread Company will also have a stone mill to provide customers with freshly milled flour. You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

“We’re excited to welcome Somerville Bread Company to the Boston Public Market this fall and introduce customers to their delicious local bread,” said Cheryl Cronin, CEO of the Boston Public Market. “The Market is full of food entrepreneurs like Nick who are taking the next step in their businesses by opening up shop here, and helping them grow is a critical part of our mission.”
